- Our first-ever PhD retreat took place from 13-14 September 2021 in Laax, GR! We had a busy program, discussing research, taking a nice hike with a great view over the Rhein valley and some interesting input by invited speakers.

- Proud to announce that SFI PhD Student Winta Beyene has won a SNSF doc.CH grant to fund her PhD research. Her research interest covers the impact of climate change on the financial system and household finance. Currently, her work mainly focuses on the impact of climate change risks on credit markets. SNSF Doc.CH scholarships fund the dissertations for the most promising young researchers in Switzerland.

- SFI PhD Student Alexandra Matyunina has been awarded the Swiss National Science Foundation’s Doc.CH grant. The grant funds promising young researchers during their PhD dissertation. Alexandra will investigate the benefits of bank lending specialization in economic development and her main advisor is Prof. Steven Ongena. Congratulations!
